The Federal Government Pays People To Stop Fraud
The Federal government wants to ensure that all nursing homes that receive its funding provide high level of care to their residents. Many nursing homes rely on the federal Medicare and Medicaid programs for a large, if not the majority of their business.
If your family member is a nursing home resident, receiving federal assistance and their care is unsatisfactory, then fight back. The Federal government enables you to file a case in the courts based on the Federal False claims Act, qui tam provision.
The qui tam law allows anyone who has direct knowledge of someone taking Federal money under false pretenses to file suit on behalf of the government. False pretenses includes nursing homes that receive federal payments and who are not providing satisfactory care.
If the Federal government takes the case and recovers money, you could receive up to 25 percent of the reward. If the government does not take the case, you can hire your own attorney who can litigate the case in Federal Court on behalf of the government. In that situation, you could recover up to thirty percent of the reward with the rest returned to the federal government.
If you know of nursing home abuse and wish to pursue to a qui tam action, our attorneys are here to help answer any questions that you may have.
