
Fen-Phen/Redux Recall
Recently two diet drugs were taken off the market due to serious side effects:
- Redux (generic name dexfenfluramine)
- Pondiman (generic name fenfluramine)
The drug combination known as "fen-phen" is composed of fenfluramine and also phentermine, which are sold under various names.
Medical reports reveal that the following negative side effects of these diet drugs include heart valve damage, primary pulmonary hypertension, lung disease, and other respiratory problems, and birth defects to children whose mothers took these drugs during pregnancy.
