Keeping Our Clients on the Road
It's really easy to lose your license. Often, people forget about this fact as they accumulate too many traffic violation points from speeding, or in more serious instances for driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Losing their drivers' licenses causes people to lose their jobs or suffer great economic hardship to travel to and from work. In some areas, without the use of a car, people can not shop or take care of their families. The simplest way to avoid these problems is to obey all traffic laws. However, many people break traffic rules. Our firm c help people who have been issued a ticket for a traffic violation. With a high success rate in reaching either a plea bargain or victory at trial, we help our clients stay on the road. In addition, because of the lower penalties or in some cases acquittals, our clients' insurance rates have not gone up as much as they could have.

It only takes a couple of tickets to risk having your license taken away in New York State. Under New York law, a person's driving privileges are automatically suspended or revoked when he/she accumulates 11 points in an 18 month period. This includes not only speeding violations, but also stop sign, red light and moving violations such as failure to yield or following too closely. Three convictions for speeding in an 18 month period also automatically means the loss of a driver's license. Lastly, a conviction for driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol is grounds for the loss of driving privileges. For those persons with commercial and/or livery/passenger licenses, the penalties for driving under the influence are even higher. DWI convictions also carry the possibility of jail time even for first time offenders.

Don't lose your freedom. Representation is the most effective way to reach a better result if you face a traffic violation. If you do not appear with an attorney, you risk higher penalties which can result in the loss of your driver's license or an increase in you insurance rates. If you have received a traffic ticket, we can help.

Video Surveillance: Is Big Brother Watching You?
If you are in the middle of a law suit and you think that someone is watching you they probably are. Despite insurance companies advertising that they are your friends, they are your adversary and you're not in "Good Hands." Insurance companies will go to great lengths to avoid having to pay large claims. One of their favorite tactics is to hire private investigators to videotape claimants. The insurance investigators are trained to find claimants doing activities which can hurt their claims. Investigators film at the workplace and at homes and in most instances over more that a over day period. Frequently, they find claimants with back injuries bending down or lifting heavy objects. The video surveillance does not show the aftereffects of the strain of the activity. The investigators do not tape the claimant grimacing in pain after bending down. They do not show the person sitting down after lifting something heavy because of the pain. The fact that it could have been a rare activity will not register with juries who in many cases will rely on the videotapes and award smaller amounts. Some insurance companies would rather pay investigators and defense attorneys then their claimants. Our trial lawyers are familiar with the insurance companies' surveillance techniques and are prepared to tackle the tapes at trial.
